Areca is a palm tree common in southern India. The leaves naturally fall to the ground in the latter parts of their lifecycle (when the nut is ripe).

These sheaths are generally considered agricultural waste and are either burned or composted. Sometimes it’s fed to livestock or used for earthworm farming
(apparently earthworms love it).

Washable, reusable and if looked after can last a number of uses.
