Our recycled glass, or green glass as others put it, comes from a variety of sources and together they make up our very attractive range.
Using reclaimed glass helps save valuable resources commonly used in the production of high volume 'everyday' or 'new' glassware. The 'savings' in raw material are of course substantial and the glass is therefore considered to be 'environmentally friendly' when compared to other types of glassware. Recycled glass can be processed at lower kiln temperatures - representing a saving in fuel costs of as much as 25% when compared with some glass producers.
There are even greater savings on our range of goblets - check out the ever popular Grolsch Goblet - where the process of turning waste bottles into attractive goblets involves cutting the bottoms off and "sticking" them to the top. Without having to melt the glass down this process can save 80+% of the energy than conventional glass.
