Are LED bulbs dimmable?

Our GU10 LED spotlights come in dimmable and non-dimmable versions depending on the type of lightning circuit used. Dimmable LED light bulbs can help save up to 90% on energy compared to dimmable halogen bulbs as well as maintaining their colour temperature when dimmed. When installing a dimmable LED bulb, a compatible dimmer switch must be used, therefore if changing from a dimmable halogen to an LED, the right switch is required. There are 2 main types of switch used:

Trailing Edge Dimmer Switches – Used with LED bulbs.

Leading Edge Dimmer Switches– Used with halogen and incandescent bulbs

Where to use GU10 bulbs?

GU10 LED bulbs are best used as downlights or spotlights and are the perfect alternative to halogen versions due to the amount of energy they save. Ideal for kitchen or bathroom fittings, these energy-saving bulbs can also be used as recessed track lighting.

What are the benefits of LED bulbs?

Because LED bulbs use lower wattages than halogen bulbs, they also useless energy and, in turn, cost less money to maintain. In addition, LED light bulbs last far longer so they won’t have to be replaced nearly as often, saving even more money compared to the equivalent halogen lamps. Finally, while looking exactly the same as traditional lightbulbs, they emit a more reliable colour temperature and give out instant light when turned on.
